British Engineering Excellence

Royce was established in 1980 and has an enviable reputation for manufacturing superb cycle components. Cliff Polton, M.D. of Royce is an enthusiastic cyclist, who commutes to work and back every day on his bicycle. ( Cliff is shown here presenting Nicole Cooke with a bouquet of flowers and the Royce Achievement Award for her outstanding performance in cycling to date.

Royce has been involved in many interesting and varied projects over the years, including -

  • Manufacturing the Bottom Bracket Axle for Chris Boardman to use in the Lotus bike to take gold at the Olympic Games in 1992.

  • Designing and producing special Stealth Nipples for Chris Boardman which, along with our Hubs, helped him to break the Athletes Hour Record at the Manchester Velodrome in October 2000.

  • Manufacturing special Bottom Bracket Shells and Axles for Nicole Cooke to use during her fantastic Gold Medal winning Junior UCI career.

  • Supplying components to such successful and respected cyclists as Stuart Dangerfield and Sean Yates.

Royce is probably not so well known for it's involvement in Pedal Cars!

The British Pedal Car Grand Prix is a two hour endurance race for pedal powered cars. Royce organises and runs this event to help raise money for local charities (and to experience serious fun!).

During the summer months, it's not unusual to see the M.D. of Royce, using the 'Royce' pedal car to go to the Post Office!

Would you buy a used pedal car from this man?

Maybe not!!
